An Orange County Wedding Photographer's Perspective — What Makes Every Wedding Day Unique
Hi, I'm Hailey — a photographer based in California 📸
Today I'm sharing a behind-the-scenes look at a wedding I photographed at an indoor venue in Orange County. The space was entirely indoors, filled with warm golden tones that made every frame feel rich and intimate.
One thing that's really important to know about American weddings — unlike Korean weddings, they typically run from morning or early afternoon all the way through the evening. That means the timeline is everything.
As you read through this post, you'll also get a sense of how American weddings differ from Korean ones. Let's walk through the day in order!

Before the vows - Getting Ready ✨
Before the ceremony begins, I capture the couple as they get ready — naturally and without interruption.
From hair and makeup to slipping on the dress and accessories, these quiet moments are some of my favorites to photograph.

One detail I always love? The flat lay shots. Invitation cards, rings, and other wedding details arranged and photographed as little works of art.
Wedding photography, to me, is like keeping a diary of an entire day 📝

The soft light filtering through the curtains was so beautiful. I had to capture the bride in that moment.
💌The Big Reveal - First Look

This is the moment before the ceremony when the bride and groom see each other for the first time.
In Korean weddings, a similar feeling might happen when the couple first sees each other in their wedding attire during fittings. But in American weddings, the First Look is its own dedicated moment, held at a beautiful spot within the venue.
The groom waits with his back turned, and when the bride appears, he turns around. Every single time, it gets me.

Couples sometimes read handwritten letters to each other during the First Look, and honestly, many say this quiet, private moment stays with them even more than the ceremony itself.
🌷Just the Two of you - Couple Portraits
After Getting Ready and the First Look, I photographed the bride and groom individually and together.

Though not shown here, immediate family portraits were also taken during this time.
The bridal suite was in a separate room, but the venue's photography room was beautifully set up — almost like a Korean bridal waiting room. We used this space for both the family and couple portraits.
I captured everything in Hailey Snap's signature warm, natural tone.

I photographed the entire day solo without a second shooter, but I kept moving and made sure I captured every angle.
